How do I update Wordpress?

Wordpress is the most popular script installed on websites, however it also has the most security issues.
If you plan on running Wordpress, you need to constantly keep up with updating wordpress and its plugins. Thankfully, Wordpress makes it very easy to keep it up to date. Failure to keep your blog up to date can result in your blog being hacked which involves rebuilding your blog from scratch.

To update your Wordpress:

Log into your wordpress admin URL, if your domain was myblog.com, your admin area would be http://www.YOURWEBSITE.com/wp-admin/.

It will ask you for your username and password, this is the same username and password you use to log in and write blog posts.

Once logged in, there will be a notification (if an update is available) on the very top of the screen with a link to update your blog to the newest version. Follow the instructions and within a few seconds, your blog will now be running the latest version.

Along with keeping Wordpress up to date, you also need to keep Wordpress themes and Wordpress plugins up to date as well.
You can do both of those by logging into the Wordpress admin section and clicking on Plugins and/or Appearance -> Themes.
